Resist the temptation to use a small font or to widen the margins on your resume and cover letter. After looking through hundreds of applications, a resume reviewer will have no problem picking up on your little fudge. Instead, look for ways to cut out nonessential information. If everything you have written is essential to your pitch, it’s much better to use a second page than to strain a reader’s eyes with small font and wide margins.
