Avoid talking about salary with a prospective employer until you have been offered the job. It's easier to negotiate for more money after you're sure they want you. Politely deflect the money question in an interview by saying that you're sure they'll pay you a fair wage. Then steer the conversation back toward the skills you have that they need.
