The duties of a chef require more than just cooking and preparing menus. Some restaurants will need to employ more than one kind of chef. The hierarchy of chefs goes as follows: chef de cuisine (in charge of all), executive chef, and sous chef. Culinary schools provide proper training for the position and are available all over the world, especially in America and Europe. They will also help with job placement, although work can be found independently. Narrowing job searches to restaurants may be a mistake, as some companies and individuals are looking for private chefs.
