The security industry is supported by guards or gaming surveillance officers. Because of the limited training needed for these positions, some people use security as a part-time job. Some part-time jobs are filled by off-duty police officers looking for a little extra income. More businesses are adding security or surveillance to their payroll. Competition may be greater for higher paying positions that require more training and guard important facilities.
