RI Job Search Tip

Many women find that working at home is a great way to earn an income while staying available for their children. Take a few steps to ensure that your work at home job is a success for the whole family. Set aside a workspace that is off limits to your children. This may include a separate phone line that has a professional voice mail recording. Let your family know that when you're in your office you're working and can't be disturbed. Don't answer casual phone calls during working hours. Caller ID can help with this. Some people who don't appreciate that you're busy will attempt to ask you to volunteer for organizations or chat while you're working. If you have young children, you may need to hire someone to babysit a few hours per week so that you have the time you need to get your work done. The babysitter can take your children to a nearby park or watch them in your home so you can still be available for emergencies.
