Expand your network through your professional or industry association. Look through the association roster for someone working at the company you're interested in. Call this person and respectfully ask for a few minutes to talk about the person’s experiences with the company. Ask if the company has any needs that fit your qualifications. You can get some valuable information this way. An added advantage is that you now have a contact to mention in the introduction of your cover letter.
