Oakland East Bay Job Search Tip

Oakland is a shipping port and a major rail terminus. Known for its shipyards, glass works, food-processing, iron foundry and chemical plants, Oakland is part of the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge connects Oakland with nearby cities. The city is the hub and headquarters of the Bay Area Rapid Transit system, which connects Oakland, San Francisco and other communities. While many military facilities closed and left Oakland in the 90s, the Coast Guard is still a major presence in the city.
