Johnstown PA Job Search Tip

Johnstown was known as one of the great centers of heavy industry in the United States. The decline of the steel industry greatly impacted the city. However, the city has since seen new manufacturers move into the area. Most notable products which are being produced in Johnstown today include apparel, dairy products, and machinery. The city was the site of a great flood in 1889 when the South Fork Dam broke. This event is known as one of the greatest disasters of the 1800s, taking upwards of 2,200 lives. The city has a Johnstown Flood National Memorial to remember the devastation.
