Interviewers aren't supposed to ask you directly about religion, marital status, age or other personal issues. If you're asked a question that you feel is inappropriate, deal with it in the same way you would deal with an inappropriate question at a party. Decide how much information you would like to give and then steer the conversation back to a relevant topic. If the interviewer isn't satisfied with a vague answer and you don't feel comfortable with divulging more, don't storm out of the room. Politely let the interviewer know that you'd rather talk about the job and don't feel comfortable answering that question. Any company worth working for will respect your answer.
