Typically associated with farmers and ranchers, agriculture also includes engineers, food and equipment inspectors, food scientists, and farm and ranch laborers and managers. Farmers and ranchers own and operate crop farms, livestock, dairy or poultry farms, horticultural farms/nurseries, or aquaculture farms. They produce enough food, fish, and plants to meet the needs of their country as well as enough to export to other countries. The laborers, managers, inspectors and engineers are also important in the process to make sure that all standards are met and all operations run smoothly. To enter this profession for all the advantages, prepare to spend a lot of time in hands-on training in an actual farm operation as well as time studying at the university level in an agricultural program to learn the technological advances necessary to the future of farming.
