DC Job Search Tip

Hotels and hospitality services are also one of the largest employers. This industry employs many young and seasonal workers, making for a large turnover and many opportunities for new employment each year. The service-oriented and office/administrative support positions do not require education, but rather on-the job training to start. This industry is among the lowest paid industries, mostly because many of the workers are part-time and seasonal. This industry is expected to increase by 17% through 2014 according to the Career Guide to Industries. As most travel patterns have resumed after the 2001 terrorist attacks, businesspeople and personal travel will increase, further growing the industry.
