The real estate industry is comprised of sellers, buyers, real estate agents, appraisers or assessors, property managers and rental agents. Most real estate jobs can be performed during regular work hours, except for the job of real estate agents. They work at any time, night or day, even weekends and holidays if necessary to close a sale because their livelihood depends on it. Realtors must pass a licensing exam and then compete with long-term agents for home listings and buyers.
