Teachers, assistants and administrators are the backbone of the education system. Demand for qualified teachers is always high, more so in some states than others. Districts that have a hard time retaining teachers may offer higher salaries and hiring bonuses to lure teachers to the region. Teachers of certain subjects may also have better prospects of finding steady employment, especially math and science teachers and bilingual teachers as the number of Spanish-speaking students increases.
