Environmental job titles include engineer, protection officer, ecologist, meteorologist, chemist, hydrologist and scientist. A bachelor's degree is usually enough for most entry-level positions, however, higher positions and teaching positions will require a masters or doctorate degree. Job growth for hydrologists specifically will grow much faster than average, as companies are held accountable for their impact on the environment, water, and air contamination. Although the federal government employs many environmental scientists, the most growth will be seen by employment in private companies as staff or as consultants.
