If so then please come join our team at one of Silicon Valley’s premier companies. Here you will help us build a system critical to Yahoo’s business model. You will encounter and overcome challenges in areas such as distributed computing, multithreading, multiprocessing, and data analysis. You will propose, design, and implement new system capabilities.

We are developing a new software system to replace a legacy system that creates and manages predictions of traffic on millions of web pages. The new system will regularly process terabytes of data to produce multi-gigabyte databases. It will interact with many other systems, combining data and performing calculations to make sub-second responses to complex queries. Thousands of people worldwide will rely upon this software every day. It will be a key component of the advertising system that contributes a large fraction of Yahoo’s total revenue.

We are looking for several sharp senior and junior software engineers with excellent problem solving, analytical, and software development skills. You also need to be able to produce and support production quality code. Our team is growing rapidly as Yahoo invests heavily in this technology. Minimum Qualifications
• Talent and passion for developing software
• Deep understanding of standard algorithms and data structures
• Expertise with object-oriented design, Java, C++, and UNIX

Helpful Qualifications
• Experience optimizing runtime performance and memory size
• Experience with parallel processing, multithreading, and shared memory
• Experience with J2EE
• Experience analyzing data
• Experience using OLAP systems
• Experience processing terabyte data sets, grid computing, and the map/reduce framework
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Experience scripting with Perl
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a technical field
