JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER LOCATION: US Headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado POSITION DESCRIPTION: Application Software Engineer for a complex Distribution & Logistics Application (Inventory Management, Shipping, and Receiving) deployed in multiple Distribution Centers throughout the U.S. The qualified candidate will work as a team member on a multi-functional team consisting of Quality Analysts, Business Analysts, and Software Engineers. The team uses Agile methodologies to work closely with key stakeholders to design and develop new solutions to meet the needs of the continuously changing business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: o Ongoing design and development of the Distribution & Logistics Application. Primary development will be utilizing Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and triggers. o Ongoing design and development of complex, high-volume, high performance reporting utilizing Oracle. o Involved in all phases of the Systems Development Lifecycle: - Work with Business Analysts and other team members to architect solutions. Perform detailed application design and development. - Develop unit test plans, execute, and evaluate unit test results. o Work with Business Analysts and Application Support Team to define support requirements and to transition project into Production. SKILL REQUIREMENTS: o Minimum 1 year object oriented development experience in any language o Minimum 1 year SQL experience o Experience working with a relational database (Oracle preferred) o Working knowledge of UNIX or Linux o Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle o Must be able to work in a fast paced team environment yet be self-directed, proactive, and action-oriented o Must have strong verbal and written communication skills o Must have excellent diagnostic, debugging, and troubleshooting skills o Must be adaptable to a changing environment o Ability to quickly learn and apply new technology, languages, and methodologies OTHER DESIRED SKILLS: o Experience with Agile development methodologies o Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, Borland Delphi, or C languages o Familiarity with Java and web-based technologies and tools (JavaScript, Swing, XML, HTML, Eclipse, etc.) TRAVEL: Not required for this position.
