Job Skills/Requirements
Responsible for the administration and support of computer systems; resolving more complex issues regarding operations, installations, setups, error messages, on-line transactions, system status and downtime procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot server systems, including off-hours support.
- Provide technical support to customers for server provided services.
- Monitor the server environment, including, but not limited to, availability, threshold alarms, backups, security advisories, and take actions as necessary.
- Install, configure and test hardware and software server products as necessary to provide services to customers, internal and external.
- Follow applicable processes and policies surrounding systems management; including change control, documented procedures, knowledge base entries, standards/specifications, etc.
- Able to generate technical documentation for use by other technical staff using the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, etc.).
- Upgrade server environment hardware and software, including working with users for a smooth transition.
- Provide input on technical solutions for customer products, issues, or problems.
- Work with other staff in project teams.
- Project manages small internal department projects; usually project under 40 hours. (i.e. server upgrades, installation of monitoring software, etc).
- Maintain detailed knowledge of server products in the marketplace, including hardware and software such as operating systems, security features, peripherals, applications, storage and local area networking technologies.
- Recommend to management ways in which the desktop/laptop and server services environment could be improved.
Experience
Minimum Two Years Experience
Must have extensive knowledge in at least three technical areas of the field
- Citrix Servers
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Internet Information Services
- Storage management
- Exchange server
- VMware ESX
- Enterprise Backup / Restore
- Some Project Management Experience
- Good Communication Skills
- Attention to Detail
- Good Problem Solving Skills and ability to work well with others.
Education Requirements
– Bachelor's degree required
