Windows Systems Administrators
Systems Administrators Level III or Level II

The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Health Care Information Systems department, is searching for a Microsoft Windows Server Administrators for the Clinical & Business Administration Team.  Positions will provide server architecture, design, planning, administration, installation, monitoring, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance for the enterprise server farm.  Duties include support for server hardware, operating systems, applications, operations, updates\upgrades, administration, attached devices and vendor management in a 7x24x365 mission critical environment. The candidate must be a thinker who is willing to keep up with new technology, learn new skills and grow. The candidate must understand the importance of balancing the stability & the risk in the systems environment.

 

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related systems administration experience (typically 3-5 years for Level II; 5-7 years for Level III) including detailed knowledge of Windows 2000/2003, building servers, application installations, migrations, configurations, upgrades, support, troubleshooting, vendor relations and vendor project management in a mission critical enterprise environment.  Desirable qualifications include prior experience working with health care industry application vendors, practical experience with Active Directory, database administration, web administration, data security, remote management tools, scripting, server clustering, system backups, Storage Area Networks, Microsoft certification, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
