We have an immediate opportunity available for a:

 

West Coast Regional Sales Manager

 

 

PLEASE NOTE:  This position is physically located in our corporate office in Dayton, Ohio with up to 75% travel to our accounts on the West Coast.  No relocation assistance is available. 

 

SUMMARY

Manages sales activities of organization within assigned sales representative territories, through OEM's, contract manufacturers, and electronic distributors by performing the following duties:

 

Responsible for meeting sales forecasts for areas of responsibility.

 

Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations for manufacturers representatives and electronic distributors to develop and control sales program.

 

Manages sales through sales representatives and electronic distributors by establishing quotas, and goals, and conducting training meetings and recommending advertising programs to Sales and Marketing Manager.  Maintains close relations with select major/target customers in assigned territories to assure success.

 

Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company.  Recommends product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.

 

Represents company at trade association meetings to promote company and products.

 

Analyzes and controls expenditures of assigned territories to conform to budgetary requirements.  Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.

 

Prepares monthly sales report showing sales volume and potential sales compared to approved plan.

 

Recommends appointment of manufacturer Representative and Distributors to Sales and Marketing Manager and be responsible for relations with them.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
