Position Summary

As member of the Web support team, you will be responsible for the installation and configuration of WebSphere Application Server (WAS) to various environments.  Duties would include deploying J2EE applications, performance monitoring, load testing, application tuning (WebSphere & IHS), on-call support (both during the business day & after-hours), and any environmental configurations. It also requires the individual to interface with staff from the Network Services, Software Development, Technical Project Management, and various other departments.

 

Principal Responsibilities

Install/Configure/Administer WebSphere and IBM HTTP Server. Design Web strategy by employing HTTP & Java application servers (mainly websphere based) Deployment of J2EE, EJB, JSP, HTML, and XML based Applications. Automation of administrative task using scripting Provide web architecture expertise to assist in delivering solution architectures for web, and portal Provide web architecture expertise to assist in delivering solution architectures for web, portal and EAI projects. Provide IBM HTTP Server Administration and Websphere Application Server administration corporate wide. Deliver web application and system performance tuning analysis. Configure authentication products (Tivoli Access Manager and RSA Cleartrust)

 

Experience

6 years of  Infrastructure and Systems administrative work

 

Knowledge/Skills

Strong Knowledge of HTTP based Processing Experience with IBM Websphere, IBM Websphere Portal and J2EE Server Experience in systems administration (Unix, Windows Server). Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills are required. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies Demonstrated operational experience in mission critical environments is required. Expertise in small, medium, and large size project management and planning skills is highly desirable. Knowledge of Mercury Interactive LoadRunner a plus Knowledge of Tuning, Monitoring and Testing Tools (Wiley, WSAM, Mercury Interactive). Knowledge of Scripting languages (Shell scripts, WSADMIN ,WSCP) Knowledge of Tivoli Access Manager for eBusiness. Knowledge of various web servers (Iplanet, IHS, and IIS)

 

Education, Training or Certification

Bachelor’s in Computer Science / Information System Management preferred

 

Position Hours

Work shift is 12 noon – 8 PM – Tuesday through Saturday
