Job Title: Web Software Engineering Consultant

Kenexa is currently seeking a talented, experienced Senior Software Consultant for our Professional Services team in our Waltham, Massachusetts Location.

 

The right candidate for this position has experience researching, designing, developing, and troubleshooting scalable, high-performing Web-based applications and services using current and legacy Microsoft technologies; developing creative and ingenious technical solutions to complex problems; and working on cross-functional teams to define and achieve shared goals on a deadline. The ideal candidate will be a Software Developer that still wants to be hands-on and code part-time but enjoys working directly with external and internal clients as well.

 

This position is responsible for developing deep knowledge and expertise around Industry Operations and Business Processes in order to drive design, configuration, and implementation for specific client solutions. As part of the Professional Services Organization, team members will be asked to work in a consultative role for clients in one of our Talent Management products

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1. Provide expert technical consulting services to customers related to all clients business solutions and platforms including:

2. Technical implementation of software and data integration components

3. Setup and configure client products and supporting software

4. Research technical infrastructure or integration issues software and provide solutions

5. Resolve any complications with integration of client’s products

 

Research and Solve Problems (Implementation)

1. Provide customers with answers to functionality in existing software

2. Work closely with product development teams to enhance products and resolve issues

 

Serve as Internal Technical Resource

1. Responsible for developing web-based Reporting Applications using ASP.NET, MS Reporting Services, C#, SQL Server and XML.

2. Able to be viewed internally as a leader and an expert on client products and implementation methodology

Qualifications/required experience:

1. High level understanding of software development process and development tools (SQL, XML, EP, .C#, NET technologies)

2. A knowledge of basic database platforms and knowledge of Microsoft Technologies.

3. Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience

4. Willingness to learn new technologies

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, as is the ability to plan work, and report progress against plan

6. Be self-motivated, proactive and able to execute tasks independently and within a team environment

7. Able to work in a team/cross functional environment

8. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

9. Careful attention to detail and accuracy

 

Education/training:

1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or similar field.
