Title: Web Developer - .Net III (Advanced)

Location: Seattle, WA – only look for EAD or GC or citizens

Status: Contract to Hire position.

Client develops and implements technologies that will improve drug discovery. The company's leading-edge genetics and systems biology group conducts research and analyses relevant and applied to all stages of the drug development pipeline from discovery, through lead optimization to clinical proof of concept and beyond

This Software Engineer position is part of our Informatics Research Tools team and will develop tools for our scientists and computational biologists. The successful candidate will be an important member of this team and play a key role in the design and development of user interface software components. Must be able to work well in a team environment and handle evolving requirements as driven by the exploratory context of a research environment.

Responsibilities will include: Designing and implementing user interface software solutions; developing system interface specifications and implementing code to meet these specifications; deploying developed software; troubleshooting code defects, and implementing and deploying timely fixes; identifying areas for optimization and improvement. Analyzing new requirements and providing accurate effort assessments and delivery estimates; interacting directly with stakeholders to understand their needs; assisting developers in other teams as needed; participating productively in design and code reviews; creating and maintaining technical documentation; evaluating new software tools as needed.

Qualifications:

At least 5-years experience in the software industry including one year experience with a formal SDLC methodology required. Versatile and strong programming skills required, advanced knowledge of .NET platform and C# including AJAX technologies, ASP.Net lifecycles. Experience in developing rich Windows Forms applications (MS Excel-like) preferred. Having working knowledge of Java will be helpful. Experience in building rich-client and web user interfaces required; experience utilizing and strong understanding of object oriented design and programming, design patterns. The candidate must have a solid understanding of database fundamentals and basic knowledge of the SQL language, excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to balance concurrent tasks. Experience in Bioinformatics a plus.

 Education: 4-year degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent required. Biology related coursework or work experience preferred. Microsoft certifications in .NET web development are a plus.
