Replacements, Ltd. is seeking a Web Developer 3 to conceive, plan, design, code, test, and implement advanced web applications, autonomic support applications, and advanced content.  This can also include changes to existing systems and applications to meet business requirements definitions.


Additional responsibilities include:

·          Develops advanced web interfaces, support applications, and content per internal clients’ needs and requirements definitions.

·          Codes, tests, and debugs web interface components

·          Reviews and assesses current web-based business processes with users to discover opportunities for application or technology-based improvement.

·          Ensures code compatibility on major browsers and across various operating system/browser platforms.

·          Creates and implements web content for replacements.com, Intranet, and STAR Supplier web site, as directed by management; performs design tasks which may require research and analysis

·          Updates new content as required  for replacements.com, Intranet, and STAR Supplier web site under the direction of the Web Manager

·          Reviews and recommends edits to product descriptions  and information from external  departments to be published to replacements.com, ensuring correct grammar and syntax

·          Communicates project status (hours, progress, delays, and completion) in a reliable and accurate manner

·          Documents all systems/products designed and modified

·          Reviews and tests company web sites daily to ensure continuous uptime and proper functioning

·          Assists team members as a senior technical resource for resolving  web-related technical issues

·          Suggests new ideas to increase overall usability and effectiveness of company web sites

·          Maintains web page architecture per organizational requirements.

·          Reviews junior team member’s work.

·          Initiates written strategy assessments and recommendations for continued technical and web business results improvement.


Requirements:

·          Must be detail oriented, and possess analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

·          Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under minimal supervision

·          Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

·          Must be flexible to handle and adapt to sudden change in procedures and priorities

·          Requires 5 years demonstrated results using essential web technologies including (X)HTML, CSS, XML, and DOM2.

·          Requires 5 years demonstrated results designing and implementing web applications and content with Java, PERL, JavaScript, AJAX, and PHP.

·          Must have knowledge of object-oriented programming and related design concepts.

·          Must have extensive knowledge of relational database and client server tools and concepts.

·          Requires thorough knowledge of effective web site design based on audience characteristics and behavior, purpose of site, site structure, and the ability to effectively suggest improvements to site design based on user feedback, both direct and passive. 

·          Must have an understanding of Web history and web architecture including DNS, routers, URLs, intranets, and extranets, along with an understanding of Internet services including FTP, Telnet, Usenet, and HTTP protocol

·          Requires 5 years demonstrated results using markup languages including basic tags and syntax, page structure, text layout, text formatting, linking, and other schema related to HTML standards.  Includes knowledge of table tags and attributes and the ability to perform table layout and design.   

·          Requires web graphics processing and optimization experience including knowledge of image formats, image maps, static images, and experience with graphic design tools. Audio, video, and animation experience a plus.

·          Requires knowledge of internet-standard web browsers and development requirements for each. 

·          Requires 4 years experience with web development tools including both WYSIWYG and code-based development tools.  Experience with Macromedia Dreamweaver required, experience with code-based editing tools a plus.  Must be able to perform front-end web site development using web site editing software and hand-coded HTML as needed. 

·          Requires 4 years of demonstrated results developing forms, including form elements, form design, and processing form data.

·          Must have ability to use reports to regularly analyze key measured web site performance areas including site performance from a customer service and marketing perspective, and areas for improvement in web site.

·          Must know the effects of site design on server configuration and functionality.  Understanding of HTTP service, experience managing directories, managing site access, generating log files, web server security, and script management required.  Specific experience with Microsoft IIS and Apache preferred.

·          Must be familiar with the InterNIC domain naming schema and its effect on www.replacements.com web site performance, as well as with the Network Solutions Domain Naming and Registration service.

·          Requires a team-oriented approach to interaction across departments to facilitate the development and growth of the www.replacements.com web site.

·          Must be able to work in a general office environment, moderately lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally push, pull, and climb a ladder

·          Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required

·          Working knowledge of our products and processes preferred



Salary Range:

$70,000 - $105,000 per year

 

 

Education and Background:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related field required, with 5 or more years experience in field or in related area.
