SAIC currently has a position for a Waste Management Technician position in Grand Forks, ND. This is an opportunity to play an essential role in Environmental Compliance to support key clients in the Energy, Environment & Infrastructure Business Unit. 
  
Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will manage a central waste accumulation site (CAS). The operation involves packaging, profiling, storing and arranging for transportation and final disposal of collected hazardous waste. Included in the daily operations are inspections of supplies and materials received from vendors, cyclic inventories for shelf life, periodic audits of military shops, and report writing. The CAS manager will also educate and train individuals on the proper methods for turning in waste for proper disposal.  The working location of this full time funded position is in Grand Forks, North Dakota. No Travel is required.

Required Skills and Experience: 2+ yrs experience in one of the following- hazardous waste, remediation, or OSHA hazardous materials handling experience.  The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, analytical and creative problem solving skills, and the drive and motivation to achieve results and customer satisfaction. Also, some light lifting is required and the candidate must be physically able to move drums of hazardous waste using a hand operated fork lift.  BS degree in Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science required or a related degree required.

Desired Skills:  Prior experience in a military environment with RCRA requirements, hazardous waste management, training in AF-EMIS operations and/or systems administration, DOT regs, HAZCOM, and HAZWOP training.
