Video Production Manager/Producer at Merck & Co.
This is a full time salaried position working for Compass Group as a contractor to Merck.
The primary function of this position is to oversee day to day operations of Merck’s Whitehouse Station, NJ Video Production Team. The position includes, but is not limited to: interfacing with internal clients and executives to produce videos for training, communications, and other purposes; managing multiple video projects simultaneously and ensuring timely completion of deliverables; managing a fulltime production team as well as freelance producers, shooters, and editors.
Recipe to Succeed:
As “the face of Merck Video Productions in NJ,” meeting with Merck internal clients and develop creative ideas that meet their needs and fit their budgets for video production.Schedule shoots, producers, and edit sessions for multiple sites.Lead camera crews on production days and direct professional and non-professional talent.Oversee edit sessions and coordinate multiple projects going though numerous in-house or external editors.Manage fulltime staff (5-10 people) and larger freelance crew as needed.Travel to other Merck sites in PA & NJ on an as needed basis. National and/or international travel as needed.Adhere to all FLIK International policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook as well as Merck specified policies. Champion FLIK objectives of customer service, operational excellence, teamwork, continuous process improvement, leading by example, and exceptional character.Any other special projects and duties deemed necessary by the supervisor or manager.
Necessary Ingredients:
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Video Production, including cameras and shooting, lighting and editing. Ability to interact with customers and high level executives in a professional and pleasant manner on a daily basis.Ability to work in high-pressure situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a professional and appropriate demeanor.The ability to prioritize tasks and to carry out responsibilities with little supervision.The ability to delegate, manage people, and negotiate with clients and vendors.The ability to develop budgets, track costs, and invoice for services.Thorough knowledge of Non-linear Post production is required. Knowledge of the Avid is a plus.Knowledge of Microsoft Office, to include: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Net Meeting, and MS Outlook.Willingness to adhere to all FLIK International policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook as well as any applicable Merck policies, procedures, or practices.3-5 years experience in corporate or broadcast video is required for consideration.
