Job Title: Vice President, General Management (Financial Services - Trading and Risk Management) About Sapient’s Trading and Risk Management Practice Sapient helps clients innovate their businesses in the areas of marketing, business operations, and technology. Our Trading & Risk Management practice has a 15-year track record of helping leading capital markets firms improve the performance of their trading operations. Job Summary: As a Vice President, General Management in Sapient’s Trading and Risk Management practice you will use your background in both delivery and sales to support a client portfolio of $3-8MM in annual revenue. You will assume the role of trusted advisor to the client and will create a compelling vision and strategy that will inspire both the client and the Sapient project teams. The Vice President, General Management will bring extensive experience and expertise in selling and delivering compelling solutions for capital market firms and business units. Additionally, the Vice President will provide thought leadership on a variety of topics including strategy, trends and best practices. This person will understand and run the day-to-day functions of the client focus area against targets and metrics, including revenue, profitability, and compliance with corporate policy and procedures. The Vice President will work with other local executive leadership to coach and mentor other Sapient employees to become the next generation of leaders. Primary Responsibilities: Vision and Strategy Development - Create a compelling vision and strategy for a client - must be able to then clearly communicate and inspire people within their responsibility with the vision and strategy Market Development - Understand the components of marketing and develop an effective marketing strategy for the client Business Development - Execute on the components of the Sapient Sales Process by opening & identifying, shaping & responding, closing, negotiating, expanding, and managing senior relationships. Relationship Management – Establish and manage long-lasting relationships with prospects and clients. Must be comfortable dealing with senior level business and technology executives in both sales and delivery contexts. Operational Leadership - Understand and run the day-to-day functions of the client/BU/focus area against targets and metrics, including revenue, profitability, and compliance with corporate policy and procedures People Leadership - Build, manage, develop and motivate a group of people that achieve exceptional team performance and individual growth Financial Acumen - Understanding of financial statements and the levers within our business Participate in making key investment and operational decisions regarding the operations and structure of the business Live, support and espouse our core values Experience Guidelines: Extensive Capital Markets expertise. Significant domain knowledge in capital markets across asset classes and front/mid/back office functions 10+ yrs consulting experience with at least 5 year of managing clients and managing to a revenue/profit target Experience in managing teams of 20+ people Business Development: Developed and managed at $5MM+ in annual revenue; P&L at $8 MM Proven ability to sell and penetrate new markets / clients Prior experience managing across the entire project lifecycle Broad knowledge of technology trends and relevance to clients business Ability to apply technology in an appropriate way to meet business requirements Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree desirable Frequent overnight and occasional overseas travel is required About Sapient Sapient helps clients innovate their businesses in the areas of marketing, business operations, and technology.
