Job Description: DISNEY INTERACTIVE STUDIOS Disney Interactive Studios (DIS) is the interactive entertainment arm of The Walt Disney Company. DIS publishes a broad portfolio of creative, innovative and dynamic video games on multiple platforms for audiences of all ages. DIS games are based on the wide range of intellectual properties of The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries, including feature film, television and publishing. DIS owns four internal video game development studios, Avalanche Software and Fall Line Studios based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Propaganda Games located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Climax Racing in Brighton, England. RESPONSIBILITIES: General Summary: Position will be responsible for building a strong team of game designers and creatives for generating new properties for DIS game products. Position will be responsible for leading the creative development of new intellectual properties and game designs, from a “blue sky” perspective to a green light for funded product development. Position will lead creative community within DIS and interface with production designers and producers to add ideas, provide feedback during production phase. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Build creative development team at DIS which can create innovative and compelling concepts that can be greenlit for production funding. 2. Lead the creative community at DIS by networking throughout DIS and leading periodic meetings to review new ideas and products in development for collective brainstorming and feedback. 3. Manage concept development projects with aim toward ultimately achieving production greenlights. 4. Manage ongoing intern “think tank” and expand into global activity. 5. Review opportunities brought to DIS by external parties for perspective on fit with DIS creative activities. EDUCATION: 10 years experience in video game industry or equivalent experience. 5 years experience in leading creative development activities at senior level. BS or BA or equivalent required. International experience highly preferred. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Outstanding presentation and communication skills. Capable of conveying enthusiasm and entertainment value inherent in new products. Strong game design skills; track record of success is critical. Strong network of creative talent within entertainment industry. Good fit creatively with Disney branded content. Proven ability to manage within a creative environment; able to balance high level of creativity within group while delivering results. Capable of networking within TWDC. Past experience in production of successful video game products.
