JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:               TRADE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

DEPARTMENT:        TRADE SALES

REPORTS TO:          TRADE SALES MANAGER (REVISED 11-30-06)

 

SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility for this position is generating, quoting, implementing, and completing trade sales of Pella Products through contractors and trade builders.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·        Responsible and accountable for meeting individual sales and marketing goals as established in agreement with Trade
Sales Manager.

·        Possess expert knowledge of Pella Windows and Doors, design requirements and specifications.

·        Be proficient in all aspects of measurement and design criteria.

·        Build and maintain contractor relationships toward long term sales growth.

·        Develop weekly “business plan” for effective and productive sales approach to territory.

·        Submit weekly call reports to Trade Sales Manager with accurate and representative information in a timely manner.

·        Maintain an account file to assist in managing all current accounts.

·        Develop processes for revisiting dormant accounts on a periodic basis.

·        Conduct Prospecting on a daily basis to develop increased sales.

·        Thoroughly and accurately develop quotes and enter into PDQ (PQM).

·        Effectively manage delivery dates to maximize inventory turns.

·        Investigate and resolve customer satisfaction, delivery or installation issues.

·        Provide proactive sales follow-up to ensure positive and acceptable CSR scores.

·        Provide verification assistance to installation as required.

·        Work within established safety practices.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·        Familiarity with Microsoft desktop products.

·        Thorough knowledge of Pella Products and operation standards.

·        Core selling and prospecting skills, basic business understanding of the sales role in inventory turns, cash flow impact and profitability.

·        Demonstrate excellent and professional customer relations skills.

·        Excellent written and oral communications skills.

·        Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.

·        Above average math skills demonstrating the ability to accurately calculate figures and totals.

·        Honesty, integrity and ethical performance.

·        Attention to detail

·        Ability to climb a ladder and take measurements

·        Valid drivers license with a clean driving record, utilizes own vehicle with mileage paid.

·        Home office capability.

·        The ability to successfully interact with others.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands include substantial driving, visiting job sites, climbing around construction projects which includes kneeling, balance and intermittent lifting.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee will be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions to successfully complete the requirements of the job.
