Apptis is looking for an Expert Systems Programmer to join our team in Baltimore, MD!

The Programmer will:

Provide analytical, creative verbal/written communications in support of a large IT engineering support services contract for the Social Security Administration. Analyze and study complex software requirements. Serve as a lead resource in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of complex systems. Develop and support using formal specifications, data flow, diagrams, and other related design and development techniques. Analyze user requirements, procedures and problems to automate manual processing. Ensure effective configuration management of systems and applications vendors. Provide Unix Systems/Windows Administration and Security Leader support for database security. Participate in software and system development reviews and testing. Conduct periodic review of government and industry security news and standards to identify alerts and enhancements that the project must comply with. Maintain contact with the client's security organization for enterprise-wide security architecture and policy compliance. Develop and test access control, access monitoring and audit collection mechanisms in a Unix/Windows environment. Install and configure third-party security access management tools, such as eTrust Audit. Develop and test scripts written in Visual Basic, C+, Batch and/or Perl for third-party security access management tools. Respond to security alerts and take necessary action to ensure system integrity. Conduct comparative analysis of existing security templates and risk models against the proposed DISA, NIST, FISMA and security templates.

Required Skills

Experience and ability to install, upgrade and tune ORACLE, SQL, MySQL and DB2 on different platforms (HP-UX, AIX, SUN Solaris, and Windows XP, 2000, 2003, Vista).

Required Experience This position requires 4 years of experience and a BS degree desired.
