Utility Engineering Corporation (UE), an engineering and design firm, offers a broad range of technical services, including engineering, design, procurement, construction management, start-up, commissioning and project development services primarily to the power generation industry, including modification projects and O&M services. We are seeking a Project Execution Planning Process Manager. Candidates must apply extensive and diversified knowledge of project management, project control, and engineering principles and practices to the execution planning development on major projects including “engineering only” and EPC JV projects in the power, industrial, transportation, and alternative fuels market sectors. This position can be located in Amarillo, Denver, Omaha or Minneapolis. RequirementsBS Degree in engineering or other technical specialty. Eight (8) years of experience in major areas of plant design and construction. Must have training or experience in project scheduling techniques, project management and project controls. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is recommended and must be acquired within one year of job start. Comprehensive understanding of company policies, procedures and financial obligations that would apply to projects. Competent with standard server software applications such as e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, etc.  ResponsibilitiesUpdate / maintain / enhance UE’s Project Execution Planning Process (PEPP) and ZPEPP® materials.  Coordinate / Facilitate ZPEPP® or PEPP Workshops on major projects: Interview Project Team Members to interpret, filter, and gather critical topics for the Workshop agendas.  Work with the Project Managers to develop the detailed Workshop agenda focusing on the critical topics and the upcoming execution plan requirements in order to meet the overall Project Execution Plan. Coordinate the appropriate meeting participants and speakers with the Project Manager (to include owner, partners, vendors, etc.). Coordinate the development of a PowerPoint Presentation for each workshop to help facilitate the project team’s discussion. Coordinate Workshop logistics with the Project Manager. Provide coaching / information to the team members on lessons learned from other projects to help them make the right decisions concerning project opportunities and issues. Facilitate the workshops. Coordinate with project teams and partners to prepare their presentation / discussion materials for workshops. Regularly functions in an independent and one-on-one basis, either in a sales or technical advisory role, as the company’s representative and spokesperson before the customer(s). In such a role, must exercise excellent judgment in salesmanship, customer relations, project management, cost-control, and applicability of the instant situation to overall corporate strategy Makes recommendations that are required as authoritative and have an important impact on the project execution planning process of major projects.  Core CompetenciesUnderstanding of a well developed Project Execution Plan. Detailed understanding and experience in engineering processes and procedures. Detailed understanding or experience in construction techniques and processes. Skilled in facilitating meetings Good oral presentation skills; Must be personable, outgoing with the ability to express ideas with enthusiasm. Must be detail oriented (prepare agendas, presentations, etc), BUT must be able to understand when to stop detailed discussions and move on in the agenda (facilitation). Ability to command respect from the Project Team  Understanding of a well developed Project Execution Plan. Detailed understanding and experience in engineering processes and procedures.
