URGENT POSITIONS

APC, Inc. is looking for two Aerospace Embedded Software Design Engineers for a client in Cary, NC. This is a Contract to Perm position.  Please send in an updated resume and salary requirements.

Must have Aerospace experience.  Nice to have DO-178 experience. 

FUNCTIONS OF POSITION

The incumbent is a member of Mechanical R&D and reports to a Staff Engineer in the Electromechanical Systems group. The primary objective of this group is to develop dynamic electromechanical products for the corporation. The group proves the feasibility of innovative technology through laboratory and customer-related demonstrations, and leads the product development efforts.

This person will be responsible for developing embedded software for client's products under a disciplined product development process for our next generation products. The incumbent will work closely with the hardware engineering team during the development of products. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with proposals, manufacturing support and sustaining engineering activities; these include, sizing work effort, and leading innovation. Occasional travel may be required for flight tests or product implementation.

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have a good working knowledge of software development processes and be proficient in the C programming language.

Direct experience in the following areas is required; embedded software development, software requirements development and management, software test and integration, developing in an MS Windows environment.

Experience with board level debugging using in-circuit emulators (ICE), and other hardware/software analysis tools.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Development experience with Texas Instruments DSP's and real-time control software.

Experience as a project or task leader.

Experience with DO-178B and CMMi aligned development processes.

Experience in testing electromechanical systems, switching amplifiers, servomotor control, and digital signal processing technologies is desirable.

Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink programming.

Has worked with industry standard software configuration and version management tools like SourceSafe or Subversion.

Design and configuration of TCP/IP based data acquisition instrumentation and controls.


10+ years in design of software aerospace applications.

• Well versed in use of Matlab/Simulink autocode generation.
• Knowledge DO-178 software devlopment process

Experience with power PC platforms (FreeScale MPC-55X)

• Direct in using Simulink to develop aerospace software in accordance with DO-178.

Education: Degree in engineering
