Our Washington DC office has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Roadway Engineer to have a leadership role on a large-scale project. You will work in a proactive team environment, mentor junior team members, and assist senior team members with delivering design and operational solutions to complex highway and roadway projects. Be responsible for roadway geometric design, grading design, signing and striping layout, report writing, development of plans, specifications and estimates. As an associate transportation engineer, you will direct team member’s work, develop and mentor junior staff; provide technical and quality guidance, and assist with management of projects. You will have client interface and may participate in various marketing activities. 

Qualifications Basic Qualifications: BS degree in civil engineering and PE required along with a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience designing various road and highway transportation projects. Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the above required qualifications, an MS is preferred along with 5-9+ years experience designing various road and highway transportation projects. Top candidate will have working knowledge of Virginia DOT, local city and county standards and processes and experience managing task budgets and schedules. Proficient InRoads, and Microstation or AutoCad skills are necessary. Effective leadership ability and strong communication skills with team orientation are essential.
