Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) in College Park, Md., seeks multiple full-time Training Specialists (Science) in the CFSAN Staff College. The Training Specialist will be responsible for providing training and education to facilitate and support the work of food safety professionals and associated staff working in a science-based regulatory agency. Candidates should have a scientific or research background (Chemist, Microbiologist, Biologist, Epidemiologist or Health Science degree required) and a desire to participate in the development and administration of training programs for public health professionals. Experience in adult learning; instructional systems design and delivery; curriculum development; training measurement design, data collection and analysis; and the use of a variety of training modalities are necessary. Must have proven oral and written skills. Flexibility performing other duties as assigned, including the management and development of non-scientific soft skill training is required. ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Supports collaboration, information sharing, and resources to meet Staff College goals. Primary consultant to internal/external subject matter experts on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training events/programs and products. Develops curriculum in consideration of audience learning styles Designs, conducts, and analyzes training measurements, needs assessments, and data collections Serves as focal point for a distinct body of knowledge about adult education, instructional design, and training best practices. Determines specific knowledge gaps and training needs Identifies and vets learning objectives, Establishes and adheres to a course development schedule, Collects, organizes, and develops training content, Determines best training modalities and approaches, Identifies and sets appropriate logistics based on content and approach, Identifies and evaluates instructors, Develops and implements evaluation tools, Manages and evaluates pilot courses

SALARY:

(GS-9 thru 13) $48,108 to $107, 854 (based on education and experience.)
