TRAINING SPECIALISTS - ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION (T&D)GP's Energy Services Group is seeking entry-level and senior-level Training Specialists who have knowledge of and/or experience in electric power transmission and distribution. Career opportunities are located in our newly established office near Pittsburgh, PA. These positions require up to approximately 25% travel to support our various clients.
Training Specialists are responsible for the following duties:Provide consulting services to GP's electric utility customers to help them analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs.
Develop training guides, user guides, reference manuals, maintenance instructions, job performance measures, and other client-specific training and qualification documentation.
Provide on-site instruction to client trainees on various electric T&D topics and technologies.
Develop web-based training (WBT) courseware.
Qualified entry-level candidates will have:Ability to maintain high productivity in a self-directed work environment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team
Strong technical aptitude
Working technical knowledge of electric power T&D equipment
Working knowledge of electric power system operations
Superior technical writing skills and excellent verbal communication skills (ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and technical data, verbally or in writing with audiences of varying levels of technical aptitude and work experience)
Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
B.S. Engineering degree (preferred)
Utility experience (desirable)
In addition to the above, qualified senior-level candidates will have: Minimum of 10 years electric utility experience in system operations, maintenance, or related training OR 10 years consulting experience working with electric utility clients
In-depth technical knowledge of electric power T&D equipment
Working knowledge of Energy Management Systems
Firm technical and business understanding of power system operations in North America
In-depth knowledge of NERC standards
Project management and training material development or instructional design experience (preferred)
