Advance Internet, a successful, established media company, is the parent company of NJ.com and eight other internet sites around the United States.   A leader in online sales and marketing, Advance Internet is in the process of developing a training department for online and newspaper salespeople and sales managers. There are openings for four training managers.  Each will develop sales training curriculum and deliver training to online salespeople and newspaper salespeople in Alabama, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

Advance Internet offers competitive salaries, an excellent benefit package and an opportunity to grow within the company.

Each of the four training managers will be responsible for developing curriculum in one of these areas: (1) real estate advertising; (2) auto advertising; (3) display advertising (retail, national, new media) or recruitment advertising.

Although each training manager will take the lead on one topic, all members of the team will train on all topics, as needed. Additional training topics include new hire training and supervisory/coaching training.

These positions require a significant amount of travel, up to 75% of the time. The home base of the training department is in Wilmington, Delaware.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in sales training and coaching plus a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. In addition, expertise in advertising sales related to one or more of the following areas is helpful: (1) automotive advertising; or (2) real estate advertising.

The ideal candidate will have a background in training and organizational development and be versed in adult learning principles. Previous job titles might include: (1) Training Liaison; (2) Training Manager; (3) Director of Organizational Development or (4) Director of Learning.

Our training style is interactive rather than presentational. The ideal candidate will excel at engaging class participants in exercises, discussions, role plays and case study work.

Every curriculum developed will include: (1) a pre-approved metric; (2) curriculum based on adult learning principles; (3) PowerPoint presentations; a learner's manual; (5) Train the Trainer materials; and (6) manager follow-up exercises to reinforce training principles.

Candidates must be able to use Microsoft programs including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. This position also requires excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
