Description: Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:
The Training Manager is responsible for the training of their respective team. The tasks involved in the training of the kat team members involves the development of training materials, including but not limited to scripts, manuals and resource materials to develop staff. The Training Manager is also accountable for setting up training events and identifying the outcomes from the defined learning objectives. The Training Manager will serve as a trainer, coach, motivator and guide to the Admissions team. Training Managers will demonstrate to the admissions team behaviors and responses that promote a positive, productive, results driven environment. The goal of the Training Manager is to train and develop the admissions staff which will enable them to produce quality enrollments and ultimately improve the student start rate through constant development, evaluation and quality assurance checks of the presentation to prospective Kaplan University students. An integral part of the Training Manager position is to coach the Training Coaches Leaders and ensure the skill development of the team.
Typical activities for a Training Manager include:
- Training new members of the kat team on Kaplan process, policy and procedures
- Initiating and participating in role plays with kat members to develop staff
- Clipping in with advisors and assisting with call maintenance and control
- Taping all advisors and reviewing with individual AA for developmental opportunities
- Using metrics to analyze and improve individual and overall team member production
- Maintaining communication with the Directors of Training and Admissions. Provide feedback necessary to improve the enrollment rate and student start process
- Developing training materials and facilitation of training sessions
- Monitoring kat team to achieve optimal kat team conversion performance standards and lead the team in the accomplishment of meeting assigned goals
- Train employees on any and all software programs necessary to perform daily tasks, including but not limited to Outlook, Orion, Symposium, Concerto, and KC Advisor
- Know, maintain, adhere and comply with all appropriate corporate policies, state and federal regulations and follow all Standard Operating Procedures
- Provide organizational trainings and upgrade training sessions to kat members which demonstrate an effective process to complete daily tasks of advisors to meet enrollment and start goals
- Track calls and all other reports to monitor productivity throughout the day
- Maintain knowledge of programs offered and take responsibility for keeping current with program changes and new programs offered
- Participate in programs for self-improvement and professional development especially as it relates to coaching
- Facilitate inter-departmental communications to help create a positive, team-oriented atmosphere
- Performs all interactions with the highest level of customer service and professionalism
- Perform various other duties as assigned by Management
Measurement of Success:
Training Manager will be evaluated based on (a) ability of individuals and team to meet established conversion performance metrics; (b) ability to produce daily & weekly team tracking reports on time and accurately (c) ability to coach, train and use coaching tools providing during training; (d) ability to work effectively lead a team, both within and across Kaplan University departments; (e) team retention; and (f) attitude and enthusiasm. Qualifications: Experience Required:
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an Admissions Advisor.
- College degree and/or equivalent work experience
- Positive support regarding managerial decisions
- Need to have achieved goal for at least 2 full quarters in a row
- Aggregate goal accomplished for current year
- Product and procedural knowledge
- Positive attitude and willingness to help others
- Successful managerial experience of at least 2 years
- Capable of accomplishing multiple tasks within specific periods of time
Position Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required:
- Must be able to work at least three evenings per week and periodic weekends if necessary
- Ability to answer complicated Admissions questions accurately and in detail
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service by telephone, e-mail, and other media
