** THE SAN RAMON REGIONAL OFFICE IS SCHEDULED TO RELOCATE TO A NEW OFFICE FACILITY IN LIVERMORE CALIFORNIA AT THE END OF 2008 **

Develops and conducts training programs for employees of organization by performing the following duties. Participates in needs analysis studies to determine training needs within organization. Confers with management to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies. Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops. Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works. Selects or develops testing and evaluation procedures to be used at completion of training.

Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as new employee orientation, on-the-job training, use of computers and software, apprenticeship programs, customer service, health and safety practices, refresher training, career development, upgrading, retraining displaced workers, and leadership development. Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training. Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods. Revises design of training curriculum and methods to improvement effectiveness. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Required Skills:
Requires BA/BS Degree or equivalent in a related field, or the recognized equivalent in work experience, of a combination of work experience and education, Plus a minimum of 5 years related experience.

Certification in Training and Development arena.

Experienced in adult education and/or technical training techniques.

Demonstrated excellent writing skills with the ability to clearly translate highly technical information into easily used and understandable text and illustrations.

Proven ability to prepare detailed outlines and course plans of proposed content.

Good technical background.

Highly proficient and thorough understanding of training and delivery methods and techniques.

Utilizes extensive training in designing innovative course materials.

Program management skills.

Internal interface for the delivery, development and management of various courses.

Solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.

Maintain a complete working knowledge of products and equipment related to areas of expertise.

Show proficiency in public speaking and present all course material in a professional manner.

Experience in designing course presentation material, instructor manuals, lab exercises, assessments, and other deliverables as required.

Ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based upon that data.

Strong ability to influence, negotiate and interact positively with inter-organizational groups contacts as necessary.

Solid attention to detail and follow-through skills.

Excellent project management skills to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work.

Must be able to travel and work flexible hours as required.
