Heery is one of the leading project managers in the country for K-12 schools and government projects. In Washington, DC we are seeking a Training Assistant/Coordinator.

 

Position Description:

The Training Assistant is responsible for assisting the Director of Training & QA/QC Programs in all aspects of the Training & Development Department.  The role is accountable for helping to plan, execute, and assess all training events as well as manage company-wide continuing education efforts for Heery’s staff.  This position will be based in the downtown Washington, DC area with convenient access to the Metro.  The role involves approximately 10% overnight travel to various cities across the U.S.  No international travel is required at this time.

Responsibilities:

 

The Training Assistant with collaborate with other staff and planning committees to bring events to fruition.  The role may manage or direct staff, planning committees, and/or vendors, particularly for the execution phases of events.  The person in this role will spend 80% of their time planning and executing events for Heery staff ranging in scope from 15 person conferences to 400 person all-day training programs and 20% of their time managing the company's continuing education programs.

 

Qualifications:

 

During the planning and executing of training events, the Training Assistant will spend 10% of their time working with senior staff and committee members to formulate event strategy and approaches.  He or she will spend 80% of their time planning and executing tasks related to delivering the events.  Finally, this person will spend 10% of their time collecting feedback, evaluating events, and synthesizing the information for future use.

 

This candidate should have 5-10 years experience in a corporate event planning role.  Experience working in the A/E/C industry would be a plus.

 

Education:

 

College Degree, major in Communications, Marketing, or Hospitality Management is a plus.  CMP Certification is a plus.
