Hewlett-Packard Company is seeking a Trademark/Copyright Attorney to join the legal department at our offices in the Portland Oregon area, in nearby Vancouver, Washington. This attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel on branding activities, including the selection and registration of trademarks; US trademark prosecution; directing agents in the prosecution of foreign applications; managing contested matters related to trademarks, and assisting in the review and preparation of trademark licenses, sourcing, distribution, and related agreements. This attorney will also have some responsibility for corporate copyright licensing and counseling. This position requires four or more years of relevant experience following an exceptional law school performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in written communications, rigorous and precise analytical ability, and superior interpersonal skills. This attorney will be expected to lead productive negotiations in both dispute and transactional environments. The ideal candidate will also have some experience with one or more of the following: law practice in the computer systems or services industry, domain name and internet issues, advertising and unfair competition law, and international trademark and related trade regulation law.
