ITT is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst for the Space Systems Division (SSD) in Ft. Wayne, IN. Provides guidance for all phases of export and import regulations to all segments of the business. Ensures SSD compliance with all US export laws and regulations and ITT SSD policies and procedures. Prepares export documentation, including license applications for signature. Scope and Principle Duties: Responsible for working with programs and business development to determine if export licenses are required and ensure that they are obtained in a timely manner. Provide guidance on regulations to others in department as well as to SSD employees. Ensure SSD's compliance with all export laws, rules and regulations. Job Specifications and Work Performed: - Works closely with programs and business development to anticipate the need for export and import licenses to ensure that they are obtained in a timely manner. - Prepares export license applications and transmittal letters, and composes Technical Assistance Agreements and Manufacturing License Agreements as necessary. - Provides guidance to programs and business development for the correct marking of documents. - Provides guidance to programs and business development for dissemination of information to people outside SSD. - Manages all routine import matters including tariff classifications, license clearance and documentation. - Works closely with freight forwarders and customs brokers on a regular basis and ensures timely shipments and imports. - Ensures that all import and export documentation is correct. Follows up after shipments to ensure that licenses are decremented correctly. - Ensures SSD compliance with all licenses and TAAs and provisos with customers, vendors, partners and SSD employees. - Ensures compliance with all regulations by preparing compliance audit criteria and leading and conducting audits with other Trade Compliance personnel. - Tracks status of compliance audits and posts results on portal. - Monitors discussions and meetings with foreign parties to ensure compliance with all US export laws and regulations and with all export licenses and provisos. - Provides training to new employees, other Trade Compliance employees, functional training by position, program specific training, license and proviso training, etc. on an on-going basis. - Monitors records of all exports (including defense services) and any exemptions used and ensures that the appropriate documentation has been made correctly. - Conducts and assists with the investigation of potential export violations and presents findings to Senior Manger of Trade Compliance. - Assists Senior Manager of Trade Compliance in the development of best practices policies and procedures to ensure SSD's compliance with all export laws and regulations. - Performs special requests as required. Responsibility and Authority: Works under the general direction and supervision of the Senior Manager of Trade Compliance. Follows general and detailed instructions or established procedures and ensures adherence to government regulations. Responsible for maintaining constructive business relationships with customers and co-workers. Supervisory Responsibility: Will have a leadership role in specific situations and when the Senior Manager of Trade Compliance is out of the office. Contact Responsibility (internal or external) Extensive internal company contacts with other departments and contacts with outside vendors (especially freight forwarders and customs brokers) or customers on routine matters, or with other Value Centers and Defense HQ. May also have contact with government officials in the Departments of State, Commerce, Treasury, Defense and Customs and Border Protection when directed by the Senior Manager of Trade Compliance. - B.S. degree in Business or equivalent with 5 - 8 years of defense industry experience in export licensing and compliance programs. - Must have a strong working knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations and be familiar with US Customs regulations, OFAC and other government regulatory agencies as necessary. - Experience with licensing for defense articles, technical data and defense services and working with international customers is required. - Must demonstrate excellent judgment regarding trade compliance with employees, suppliers, customers and government agencies. - U.S. citizenship is required.
