Tivoli SME
Candidate will be responsible for contributing to the standardized event and alert management architecture for the data center.

Individual will be a subject matter expert in Tivoli Service Level Advisor, Tivoli Monitoring, Netview and Tivoli Enterprise Console. Responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, and support systems management of Tivoli monitoring landscape. This also includes the consolidation of multiple monitoring offerings into the Tivoli framework. Individual will be accountable for mapping future strategic process and monitoring architecture to new product enhancements. Candidate will work with product teams to understand and map process and monitoring needs to standard architecture. Maintain Tivoli components and respective rule bases, class definitions, rule sets, and scripts. Maintain and prune Tivoli databases. Create/maintain reports using Tivoli Service Level Advisor so users can easily run their own queries.

Develops standard process and monitoring architecture. Provides development instrumentation recommendation to product teams. Provides reports and statistics on operation of system and application performance in supported environments. Participates in capacity and disaster recovery planning and asset management. Participates in cross-functional analysis of problems. Develops and implements disaster recover plans for standardized monitoring architecture. Develops backup procedures and database administration processes for critical business data and manages consolidation and archival of application/log data. Providing second/third tier support during monthly outages and special rollouts, including troubleshooting, correcting system and security problems Monitoring system and application security and performance, tuning as appropriate. Recovering failed systems Define hardware configurations Managing system security policies, consolidation and archival of application/log data and anti-virus protection.

Education/Experience: Equivalent of technical bachelors degree with 5 or more years related professional experience, Masters degree a plus.
