Position Description
Technical Lead of the Future Combat Systems (FCS) IS&T Test effort for synchronization of SoS Tests of laboratory simulation based Integrated Mission Tests (IMT); of Surrogate/Prototype based Technical Field Tests; of FCS Experiments; of Spin Out Testing; of support of the Integration of simulation and test control/data collection software; and the technical leadership of test event execution. This senior engineering position will provide technical leadership in coordination of the efforts of the IS&T Test team with the multi-disciplined/cross-organizational teams internal and external to the IPS&T IPT supporting major LSI test events. The position will require a senior level engineer who understands the complex engineering issues associated with all aspects of testing large integrated government System of Systems. Candidate may be required to support extended TDY to California and White Sands New Mexico and other locations as part of the software and hardware integration and test execution team.

Advanced, expert knowledge across a wide range of engineering disciplines (e.g. structural design, mechnical design, electrical design, aerodynamics, stress analysis, weight and balance preparation, durability, dynamics, fluid power systems, propulsion/fuel systems, acoustics, material properties, fracture mechanics, environmental conditioning, control theory, and test instrumentation). Advanced, expert knowledge of domestic and international regulations (e.g. FAA, DOD, and NASA regulations) on the certification of test articles/vehicles to assure compliance of design. Utilizes the above knowledge and Boeing/Industry standards to research new design, set ups and execution of tests (e.g. structural, noise, mechanical, electrical, environmental, and materials on systems, vehicles and subcomponents).
Education and/or Experience
Typically 14 to 19 years' experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years' experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
