Summary:
Technical Manager for a group of engineers with these responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, developing and implementing cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. Prepare test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, complete specifications and procedures for new products. Develop test software using LabVIEW. Develop and document test hardware and software using computer based tools.Will be responsible for development of the Test Engineering organization in terms of staffing, capacity management and outsourcing, process improvement, metric definition and tracking, and training, as needed to support division business objectives. Will develop and track plans via schedules and budgets for product development and manufacturing introduction and support. Will manage staff allocation/assignments in a matrix organization. Will be responsible for performance reviews and career development of employees.Occasional travel as necessary to perform management and oversight of outside vendors or contractors.
Qualifications:
Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering, Masters degree preferredMinimum of ten years experience in an engineering capacityFive years of experience with direct management and supervision of managers, engineers, technicians, and support specialists in a design, development, test, or product support environment.Five years of experience in performing project planning, tracking, and oversight activities. Must have demonstrated experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development.
Additional Skills:
Effective experience interfacing with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product management, and outside vendors and contractors. Understanding of radio based products.Must be able to interface with design engineering for resolution of product design issues. Must be able to continuously test process improvement through the monitoring of test process efficiency such as: test yields, defects per unit, test cycle times and average trouble shoot times. Experience with developing test software using LabVIEW is preferred. Advanced level of knowledge of RF test equipment, computer-based design tools, and documentation procedures is preferred.
