Territory Manager / Outside Sales
Western Carpet (Central New Jersey, New Jersey)

Western Carpet, a leading regional flooring distributor of top national brands, seeks experienced outside sales professionals.

Due to expanding product lines, we are currently seeking candidates for territory manager positions in the following areas: New Jersey

Territory managers will sell floor covering products and services to floor covering retailers and/or floor covering contractors.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

A. Accountability

Meeting sales dollar targets. Achieve sample display placements and sales from displays placed in the territory. Calling and developing the entire customer account list. Calling on architects, designers and end-users for commercial application.

B. Travel throughout assigned territory to call on existing customers.

Duties include:

Promoting and selling of all existing and new products. Placement and set up of new displays and merchandising systems. In-store sample updates as needed. Training of retail personnel on products, programs and installation, etc. Updating and administration of price list, price quotes. Periodic review with account of sales performance and opportunity. Assistance to credit department in keeping account current. Tracking of stocking products and replenishment. Handling of dealer and consumer complaints. Providing consultation of profit opportunities for customers and developing plans to implement. Traveling with manufacturer representatives.

 

C. Solicitation of new accounts and new business opportunities by:

Analyzing sales, product and display penetration in assigned territory. Account set up following company criteria and procedures. Merchandising and training as described above.

 

D. Additional duties include:

Personal development and training as prescribed by sales manager Required company communication through email and voice mail Preparation of sales calls planning. Participation in scheduled sales meetings and training. Evaluation of market potential by product and by customer.
