We are seeking a Clinical Coding Editor to bring strong coding, billing and reimbursement knowledge as well as strategic vision and customer service support to our dynamic team. Primary Responsibilities:Ensuring that information presented in print products (payment guides, desk references, tool kits, code books, etc.) sold to customers is correct as related to coding, billing and reimbursement guidelinesConducting standard and Internet-based research to understand coding, billing and reimbursement issuesInterpreting ICD-9-CM and CPT coding conventions and revisions and working with CMS regulationsDeveloping content for print and eProductsCollaborating with other staff members to identify opportunities to grow product lines and develop, position and market new productsWorking with editorial staff to answer questions on content and ensure that written materials are accurate and that copyediting meets standards Qualifications:Certification in the coding systems through AHIMA (CCS) or AAPC (CPC); or AHIMA credentials (RHIA or RHIT) 3-5 years experience in physician’s office or hospital coding  are required  Proven writing skills must provide examples A demonstrated ability to conduct group presentations Strong computer skills Ideal candidates will also have:Prior management experience in a hospital health information or patient financial services department Experience as the manager of a physician group Experience overseeing a quality or compliance program, or serving as a compliance officer for a hospital or physician's group UnitedHealth Group offers a full range of comprehensive benefits to full-time and part-time employees, including medical, dental and vision, as well as a matching 401k and an employee stock purchase plan.
