TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

 

Iowa Mutual Insurance Company (an affiliate of The Motorists Insurance Group) seeks a Technology Specialist to join our Information Technology team in our DeWitt, Iowa office. 

 

This position:

Provides technical expertise in the areas of hardware integration, software configuration, maintenance, and implementation for all computer platformsDevises and implements software and hardware enhancements to monitor and improve performance of the supported systemsProvides technical support and guidance on supported technologiesDesigns, develops and implements new systems and enhancements to existing systemsProvide technical, non-technical and feasibility assistance to others within the department, division and company                        

Requirements:

Ability to develop creative solutions to challenging problems with minimal supervision Self motivated, flexible and receptive to learn new technology as the needs of the organization changesThorough understanding of PCs, Laptops, Servers, Printers, etc. as pertains to a business environmentKnowledge of network addresses and assignment of routing protocols as well as configuration of authentication and authorization - directory servicesAbility to analyze new PC software, hardware and upgradesAssist in assuring proper back-up of information stored on PC serversExperience in SQL Server application development and one or more of the following PC software development tools: Visual Basic, Access, Crystal Reports, iE Integrator, Java, Javascript, VB script, HTMLAdditional beneficial skills:  Citrix/Terminal Server Experience; VMware Support; SQL Server Administration and application support; disaster recovery efforts
