Position Consists of:
· Edit, write, design, layout, illustrate, update, and publish product and system documentation.
· Serve as the central coordinating point for all facets of product/system documentation.
· Coordinate and lead a series of team meetings for documentation review and approval.
· Responsible for publishing documentation for Web site.
· Create line art, screenshots, and diagrams.
· Provide documentation to department heads as needed.
· Responsible for maintaining a screenshot and diagram library.
· Responsible for creating and publishing procedure manuals.
· Work closely with development department during verification testing to check accuracy of draft documents.
· Plan, coordinate, and present documentation project timeline and resource estimation.
· Create, storyboard, write, and illustrate computer-based training tutorials.
· Interview programmers and support department personnel for acquisition of technical information.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in technical communications or related technical degree preferred.
· Minimum 3-5 years experience writing and editing consumer or technical product/system manuals.
· Strong command of the English language and grammar usage.
· Knowledge of editorial style required.
· Experience working with graphic editing and layout software preferred.
· Familiarity with common technical/programming terms and abbreviations.
· Ability to interview development staff and translate information into concise language required.
· Proficient competencies in Word, FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, and PowerPoint.
· Must be organized, detail/deadline-oriented, and possess the ability to adjust priorities.
· Familiarity with editing content and layout of graphic-user interface (GUI) preferred.
