SAIC's Homeland Security Solutions Division (HSS) currently has an opening for a Technical Writer/Editor.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Creating and maintaining systems assurance/technical architecture documentation and Web site content. Coordinating technical architecture, database administrators, and test and evaluation (T&E) teams to collect, organize, and prepare information for documentation and marketing materials describing standards, processes, and procedures. Documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures. Conducting peer reviews and editing documents created by other team members. Creating and maintaining a master documentation project schedule. Identifying interdependencies and milestones in documentation projects.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree and 8 plus years of related professional experience. BS in technical area, or BA in Comunication or English desired. At least 14 years experience combined with minimum 8 years relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Three or more years of technical writing/editing experience required. Must have excellent technical writing skills with thorough knowledge of English grammar and punctuation. Ability to assimilate technical concepts quickly and present technical information clearly and concisely for technical and non-technical audiences. Outstanding audience analysis skills and ability to tailor communication to fit needs of diverse audiences. Knowledge of proofreaders' marks. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Word. Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in collaboration with authors. Ability to work independently, yet seek guidance when necessary. Ability to meet tight deadlines and adjust to changing priorities. Position requires U.S. citizenship in order to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS:
Technical writing experience within the Federal government environment. Knowledge of Federal enterprise architecture and software development methodologies. Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illistrator, Visio.
