Job Description

The primary role of a Technical Instructor in Global Learning Services is to deliver training on the Cúram product to customers and integration partners. A secondary aspect of the role is to contribute to the design and maintenance of the course ware.

This position is based at our Herndon, Virginia office. The role requires a travel commitment of at least 50%. Although travel is primarily throughout North America, the role may also involve travel to other locations including (but not limited) to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Typical Job Responsibilities

. Deliver technical training courses to customers, partners and internal staff to a very high standard
. Develop in-depth knowledge of the Cúram development environment and associated third party tools
. Update and enhance existing training materials
. Assist in the creation and delivery of customized technical workshops
. Work closely with the current team of trainers and course ware developers
. Mentor GLS team members
. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees, partners and customers


Experience/Qualifications/Skills

. A minimum of four years post-graduate experience and a diploma or degree in a computer-related discipline or equivalent computer-related technical experience is required
. A minimum of three years Java programming experience is required
. A minimum of two years technical training experience is required
. Instructional aptitude and a good mixture of technical and customer-facing skills
. Strong individual coaching and mentoring abilities required
. Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with clients
. Strong technical writing and documentation skills
. Knowledge of modern software architectures
. Knowledge of J2EE (including JSP and EJB technologies) and component-based development
. Familiarity with JDBC, SQL, XML, XSL, CSS, and HTML would be an advantage
. Experience with integrated development environments, including WebSphere Studio Application Developer and Eclipse would be an advantage
. Strong SQL and data modeling skills would be an advantage
. Experience using Rational Rose would be an advantage
. Experience using Oracle and/or DB2 would be an advantage
