Modis, one of the world's largest and most respected providers of Information Technology Resource Management (ITRM) services and solutions, is currently seeking an Technical E-Business Manager to work for our client on a long-term project in Washington, DC.

The Technical E-Business Manager is responsible for leading, supporting and managing the development of e-business strategy and tactics for our client.  This position assigns and schedule projects and oversees the technical staff providing the support, integration and customization of our client's various applications and databases.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Provide application support and software development/integration.

·     Build and manage a team to support e-business and application support tactics.

·     Direct and manage vendors to provide timely support and upgrades.

·     Develop policies and procedures to operate and support the ERP applications.

·     Diagnose, fix and follow-up on software failures.

·     Ensure optimum performance of databases and software applications (COTS)

·     Lead technical teams to test, verify, and support COTS products

·     Provide leadership in areas of e-business advancement and in architecting e-solutions; present ideas and concepts to various internal and external groups.

·     Direct application support, development, integration and administration functions.

·     Support the implementation of new products and technology.

·     Manage underlying infrastructure including databases, software applications, security, and any other technical issues.

·     Lead developers to translate web application architecture into system design.

·     Ensure optimum resource utilization across multiple platforms in an application support and development environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·     Bachelor’s Degree

·     5 years of experience in database management

·     3 years of supervisory experience of application support group operations

·     Technical knowledge of Sun Solaris, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and Internet security.

·     Experience in technical leadership of system infrastructure related projects.

·     Oracle, MS SQL, C/C++, Perl, and hands-on experience.

·     Experience in interfacing and working with web applications, in software development cycle from design to programming to customer service to implementation
